Glass
Blown, Cast, Etched and Hand Carved Glass by Chris & Ron Marrs, Polly Gessell and Brad Abrams
Polly Gessell has been enhancing and challenging her skills as a craftsman for over 20 years. Her sand blasted and carved glass pieces run the gamut from delicate stemware to architecturally sturdy walls to any and all glass and stone pieces in between. Her style, which is frequently geometric and abstract, is set forth in sharp, clear-cut line with great attention to detail. Her works are found in private collections throughout the world. Her client list includes the restaurants of Barbara Lazaroff & Wolfgang Puck, the American Gem Trade Association, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Rolex Corp., American Airlines, and The Venetian Casino.
The father and son team of Ron and Chris Marrs specialize in hand-blown objects ranging from platters and vases to hanging ornaments. Their glass art items exhibit intense pattern work form color spirals, frit and overlays along with hand manipulation.
Proclaimed “Abstract Experimental Expressionist”, Mr. Abrams is inspired by free thought, his addiction to color, and a love for nature’s many beautiful creations. The work he creates reflects his fun-loving personality and like its creator, commands a presence in a crowd. The immediacy and flow of decision-making necessary to glasswork comes naturally and makes his work exciting. Working spontaneously and intuitively, the irony is in the delicacy of the forms he creates.
