Sculpture by Laura Abrams and D. Wallace Dean
As a sculptor my work finds its inspiration in the infinite forms of nature. Though no artist can compete with the perfection or spectacular beauty that exists in the forms from our ocean, the earth and sky, and the tiniest cell or organism, Laura Abram’s challenge is in studying these forms, as well as those which man has created for use in industry and bringing these together in an interesting way. For Laura, creating is a spiritual process where the link between nature, industry and universal consciousness coincide. Both abstract and organic, her work strives to capture the motion of objects, sometimes combining found objects in an assemblage to create a new three-dimensional form. The work is characterized by a rhythmic, natural flow that speaks to us on an intuitive level.
