BACKGROUND
Pam is a contemporary Texas artist who began her career as a decorative painter and muralist in residential homes. She eventually gave up ladders and scaffolding transitioning into the fine arts where she still enjoys creating large works on canvas.
Pam’s lifelong passion for horses is the inspiration for much of her work. As a symbol of strength and beauty, she desires to create pieces that have an emotional connection with viewers. Each painting begins with a clear idea allowing herself the freedom to let the work evolve organically. She desires to capture the essence of the subject more than the specific detail. Experimenting with color, textures and various techniques are as important in her creative process as the finished painting itself.
Pam is a past president of Lake Granbury Art Association and a member of Cowgirl Artists of America. Her paintings have been juried into many regional shows and have won numerous awards. She is represented at Your Private Collection Art Gallery in Granbury, Texas
MEDIUM AND TECHNIQUE
“Though my paintings are representational, often my work will begin as an abstract. I find that by just putting color on the canvas in the beginning stages helps me keep a painting ‘loose’ and helps establish a color scheme. Simplicity and color harmony are the driving INSPIRATIONfor all my work. I desire to capture the essence of the subject without incorporating every detail. I want collectors to have an emotional connection with my artwork that they’ll cherish for life.”
INSPIRATION
“Beauty, simplicity, color and light -that’s what inspires me. God has created the palette of colors; I simply seek to apply them to the canvas using my own expression. My desire is to capture with paint what the subject is saying to me, believing that my art will speak to others as well.”
